PCMark Vantage
PCMark Vantage does a great job at showing the performance of your entire machine. Sadly, their tests are not based around one component in the system, but instead stress many components, e.g., watching an HD video while making a backup of it. Lets see how my system did.
Not bad! 7557 is a very solid score. Again, none of these tests target the RAM specifically, but the RAM does play an important role.
Conclusion
Overall, the OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 Platinum Extreme Low Voltage CL 9 Dual Channel 4GB kit is a very good set of RAM. It’s not for those looking for the cutting edge of speed, but it’s great for those looking for solid RAM, with a speed that will last. The heat spreaders will keep it cooler and should also help it last longer. Performance wise, this RAM is solid. Especially at the $100 range that it’s in. If you want the best of the best, look elsewhere, but if you want some great RAM to stick into your new system, keep OCZ Platinum in mind.
Great structure and design. Unfortunately, my laptop’s processor is AMD, I can’t try this one.
