Over here in Australia no one would dare ask that question because everyone already knows the answer, and they would probably be killed.

AMD!! It rules and always will.

I only have an AMD Duron 800 but considering the price difference between it and my mates P3 800, the little extra performance show's how much Intel sucks.

Here's another overclocking sitehttp://www.hardocp.com/ and http://www.overclockers.com/
Here's the site of a guy that went all out and rigged a water coolant system up for his over clocking needs

hello man,

i just want to say that i do not need a CISC processor because i do not usually play 3D games, so with a RISC processor, an AMD, is better for the equipment, and also a quite cheaper than the intel ones.

bye

I see that I'm going to be in the minority here, but I like my intel machines, I've got a couple of old P1 machines that are still used every day by my younger kids without any problems.  My older boys are running PII's, one is a 433 and the other is an 800, they supposedly use them for school, but all I seem to catch them using them for is gaming and they are working great.  My toy is a Dell Dimension 8100, P4 1.4ghz, w/256mb ram & a 64bit NVIDIA GEFORCE video card.  This baby rocks at whatever I want to do with it, games, office apps, imaging, you name it and it happens fast!  My only regret is that I didn't stick with Win98se instead of upgrading? to WinME.

Why not just wipe the system clean and install Win98SE on that bad boy?

Well I'm using AMD at the moment.  Pentium just can't compete on price in the UK (that's where I'm from by the way). On average AMD's chips are about £150-£200 cheaper than the Pentium equiv..and AMD perform much better!!

I also saw some info about Pentium releasing the 2Ghz chip next month, MEGA POWER!!!, but also read that AMD's Athlon 1.5Ghz can outperform it in some tasks   . Thats a Kick in the teeth if true!!   ;D

If this is the case, what are Intel upto??
