P4 2.8E overheating problem

hey i have a p4 2.8e 1m cache with a ic7-g motherboard and for some reason when i check the temp of my cpu it is like 58c at idle. i called intel and they said that its normal for the cpu to be runing that hot. The thing is that i have a thermaltake spark 7+ copper heatsink and fan that blows like a jet and i have to keep it on full speed all the time to keep the temp at 58c. if anyone has had this problem or kno anything about this please reply.
Thanks

first, take the grill off.. that'll reduce noise and inprove airflow.. second, get some better thermal grease.. the stock stuff sucks... and yes, prescotts do run hot.. so you're goign to hvae to improve caseflow as well if you want it cooler.. or get water cooling!

70 is pretty rediculousy hot for it to be idling. my cpu temp went down from 56 idle to 44 idle with my new vga silencer 3 on my 9800 pro
