Palit ATI Radeon 4870 X2

Test Machine:

Abit X38 Quad GT Motherboard
Intel E8500 Core 2 Duo
2GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 PC-8500
Lite-On DVDRW
Windows Vista

Benchmarks Used:

3DMark06
Resolution: 1280 x 1024
Quality: No Anti Aliasing / No Anisotropic Filtering

3DMark Vantage
Resolution: 1900 x 1200
Quality: 4X Anti Aliasing / 16X Anisotropic Filtering

As you can see the 4870 X2 emerges ahead of all other cards in each lineup. It should be mentioned that 3DMark06 is a severely CPU limited benchmark and as such we do not see the same separation of scores as we do with Vantage. The 4870 X2 posts nearly double the score of a single 4870 in the 3DMark Vantage test once again showing off the DX10 power of this card in crossfire. The 4870 manages of destroy the score of any other card in a single configuration. In our tests a pair of Geforce 260 or 280's will surpass the score of a 4870 X2 but will also cost the consumer significantly more.
