Introduction:

Mobile computing just got a little more interesting. Techware Labs just received a Spartan Laptop with an AMD Athlon(tm) 64 bit processor 2800+ to benchmark. We just couldn't wait to see what this system could do. The laptop came with 512 MB of RAM and the ATI's 9700 Mobility Radeon. Just with these few specs provided, we couldn't get Half Life 2 loaded fast enough, but we will get to that a little later in this review. This laptop is an average size and weight laptop which is a good thing for those of us who are carrying the laptop at the airport from concourse to concourse. With its built in network capability over an ethernet or the 802.11g wifi connection, you will be able to connect to wireless hotspots or the hotel's network without having to carry the a dongle or PCMCIA card in your bag.
